Why Kathy Hochul will win the NY-26th CD
Jack Davis to the rescue? After the last episode involving Jack Davis, where Jon Powers and Mr Davis got locked in a mudslinging contest, Alice Kryzan the proverbial dark horse came out on top with a primary challenge that amounted to "I'll be the person over here without mud all over me", I'd written Davis off as well one of the most perennially annoying candidates and useless politicians around. Now I'm forced to revise that belief, while he's still doomed to be forever annoying, he is now at least useful to the Democrats. Jane Corwin in what can only be described as one of the dumbest political moves around, decided to engage Mr Davis in a negative campaign, which as it were is about the only thing that Jack Davis is any good at politically.
Republican super PACs end up spending a huge portion of their budget trying to simply prove that Jack Davis is not at all a Tea bagger. Not only did they waste a large amount of money on Jack Davis, but they spent all of their time talking about it instead of staying on the issues, largely medicare. It has gotten so bad now that Corwin seemingly sent a member of her staff to do nothing more than bait Jack Davis into a confrontation. <Hochul kept pounding away on the Ryan Medicare plan. Holding true to what should surely be the first thing taught in any campaign school, find their weakness and pound them on it.
If Corwin doesn't lose this campaign...it won't be for lack of trying. So I must, grudgingly say thank you Jack and Jane for doing everything wrong.

County Exec. Maggie Brooks and the County Subjects of yet another state probe
"A Monroe County local development corporation and its primary contractor managing a $224 million upgrade of the county's emergency communications system have been subpoenaed by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for documentation about their formation and business practices.Meanwhile, state Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli notified the county this week that its relationship with the local development corporation, Monroe Security and Safety Systems, also known as M3SLDC, would be audited.
The impending audit and subpoenas issued to M3SLDC and its contractor, Navitech Services Corp., this week suggest a broad investigation into the makeup of the organization, whose existence has been mired in controversy since its inception two years ago.
Another company, Harris Corp., whose winning bid for a subcontract to supply safety equipment to first-responders was $11 million higher than a competing firm, also was subpoenaed.
"
The story goes on to quote M3SLDC's attorney Richard Bell
""The information they're looking for is fairly routine," Bell said. "It is a very broad subpoena and we'll deal with it. But again, this is almost exclusively public information.""This is one of those common PR phrases meant to make us feel all warm and fuzzy....Oh this is all routine...I'll just ignore the man behind the curtain...
